Every month at Stewart Richardson we recognize one of our outstanding court reporters for helping us provide the highest quality of deposition services. This month, we chose Sherry Lennfrom our Evansville office to be in the spotlight.

“Sherry really goes above and beyond to help clients and has been a great addition to the Stewart Richardson family for almost six years, ” said Stewart Richardson COO Rose Wallis.

When asked to describe Sherry in three words, Rose couldn’t help but give four. “Sherry is genuine, dedicated, humble and oh-so-kind.”

ABOUT SHERRY LENN

Sherry went to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and graduated with an associate’s degree in court reporting in 1987. She worked for Tri-State Reporting for 23 years before coming to Stewart Richardson, where she has worked for nearly six years.

Get to know more about Sherry, her time as a court reporter, and her experiences working for Stewart Richardson by reading our conversation below!

What do you like about working as a court reporter?

There are many things I like about working as a court reporter. I like the flexibility it offers, being able to work with professional people, and the fact that court reporting is a unique skill and so many people are intrigued by it. I also like that you can make a nice living being a court reporter and that I can work from home.

What drew you to Stewart Richardson originally, and why have you stayed with our company?

Tom Richardson drew me to Stewart Richardson originally. After speaking with him, I truly felt this is where I belonged. I’ve stayed with Stewart Richardson because they have made me feel supported, and I feel that my happiness is important to them.

What do you like most about working at Stewart Richardson & Associates?

I like the “family” feeling that Stewart Richardson has and that we have a wonderful support system. I like working for a company that is always trying to keep up with the latest technologies in our field.

Stewart Richardson COO Rose Wallis described you as genuine, dedicated, humble and oh-so-kind. What words would you use to describe Stewart Richardson & Associates?

Amazing, knowledgeable, family.

What do you like about working in your local community?

I like that the attorneys are very laid-back and easy to work with.

What is one interesting thing about court reporting that you don’t think many people know?

That you can work on your transcripts from home when you are not in depositions.

Tell us a bit about your family!

I’ve been happily married to my husband, Jeff, for almost 28 years. We have two adult children. My daughter is 25, has a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Business and works for ComScore right around the corner from Stewart Richardson’s office in Evansville. I have a son that’s 22 and will be graduating in  December from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in Biological and Food Processing Engineering.

What are your favorite hobbies/activities?

I love to cook and spend time with my family.

What is one interesting fact about yourself?

I’m absolutely crazy about my kids!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone looking to become a court reporter?

Practice, practice, practice!
