After just five years, Fort Wayne’s Annual Chili Cook-Off inspired a new tradition in Evansville. Together, the two offices’ Chili Cook-Offs raised nearly $3,000 for Toys for Tots.
Without further ado, the long awaited results of the contests:
In Fort Wayne, Andrew Teel of Haller & Colvin won the You Name It category this year. His chimichurri sauce was a wonderful addition to his chili.
Jillian Hartman of Capital Property Management won the White Chili Award.
Tom Richardson of Stewart Richardson took top prize in the Fire Alarm category.
Wild About Mild was won by Karla Worthington, also of Stewart Richardson.
Tim Dykehouse of CANI won in the No Beans About It Category.
The Winner of the People’s Choice Award:Lindsay Hurni of Burt Blee Dixon Sutton & Bloom. She was entered in the You Name It category. She gets bragging rights for a year, a keepsake trophy, and her name and firm engraved on the coveted traveling trophy cooking pot. Sara Wright of PNC and Andrew Teel of Haller & Colvin came in second and third, respectively.
In the Evansville contest, Stewart Richardson court reporter Sherry Lenn took home the prize for the White Chili category.
Rhett Gonterman of Ziemer Stayman Weitzel & Shoulders won the You Name It category.
The No Beans About It chili also went to a Ziemer Stayman Weitzel & Shoulders attorney: David Guerrettaz.
Brandi Staples, of Woods & Woods, clinched the victory in the Fire Alarm chili.
Dan Barfield from Gerling Law won with his Wild About Mild chili.
But the winner of the first Annual Evansville Chili Cook-Off, the first name on the soon-to-be-infamous stockpot, and the pride of Ziemer Stayman Weitzel & Shoulders is David Guerrettaz!
Both offices look forward to next year. Pam, the Fort Wayne Account Manager, noted, “we are on the calendar for Monday, November 3, 2014 for the 6th Annual Chili Cook-off.” Jennifer Rhoutsong of the Evansville Office said, “The venue and the representative from Toys for Tots are both asking that we make it an annual event… so start preparing your recipes for next year!! Thanks again to all the Legal community for making this a successful event.”
